My third attempt at Street Photography

Hi dear friends, after a lot of very valuable input from you guys here goes my third attempt at street. This time round I only clicked the pictures that I found interesting and that I felt created some tension to the user while viewing them (not all of them). I seem to have lost sharpness on the pictures because they were clicked in manual mode in afternoon sunlight, which I know is bad for photography and i didn't know too much about the settings(maybe I should have put the lens hood on?). Some of the pics were shot in RAW and minimally edited, am learning to use the Sony Raw Converter for editing. I have a Coloured and B&W version of the same pictures so also please advice on which looks better in B&W v/s coloured.

Please continue with the positive constructive criticism that you'll great folk have encouraged me with, thanks!

Cruvon - WOW!!!

The 1st three images are superb!!! I absolutely love the two on the bench - in the subway. That's an amazing shot - pure "street".

I'm really impressed with the incredible growth!!!

Keep going, Cruvon. I can't wait to see more.

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement mate, glad you loved those. Took some courage getting over shooting pictures of people but I think most people are quite receptive about pictures, more so in a touristy place. The last one at Hungry Jacks was a good exercise in making eye contact and the guys instantaneously posing for the picture without me asking though not exactly a picture with a story:)

I liked the bench shot as well.....true street photography!!

Check this guy out, for one example of an "old school" street photographer.

What sort of camera are you using? I've been thinking about buying a proper camera... truth be told mostly so I can take quality pictures of my watches... but also just to have in general. An iPhone can only do so much.

This one is a Sony A7S, quite compact compared to DSLR's. For macro, you will have to use a adapter to use with Nikon/Canon lenses since they don't have a macro lens yet for the A7's but they sure will in the future. Highly recommend it esp for low light.
