acceptable accuracy of JLC caliber 849

Kinda dumb question, but have a Jaeger Ultrathin Jubilee as a wedding gift from the wife, and was wondering about accuracy of the 849 movement. Love it, but the accuracy went from a few minutes fast a day to a freaking 15 minutes fast a day in the past 2 months. Planning on dropping it off to the AD to get it sent to JLC for warranty work, but been hesitant with all the alleged forum horror stories for JLC service. Kind of annoying that such a new watch already needs to get work done but I guess $--t happens.

Just be careful ... I dropped off my JLC reverseo GMT for "warranty service" in early July and still haven't got it back.

According to them, service time for warranty work is approximately 4 months, otherwise it can be as long as 6-8 months.

Magnetized

If it's running that fast it's a simple job of degaussing the watch. Should take about 15 minutes at the AD.

Degaussing is a great thought. 2 to 3 minutes per day is pretty poor timekeeping.

One of my favorite watches and movements! I've never had any JLC service issues so can't speak to that but given Walt Odets' glowing review of the movement it'd be worth the hassle.

Should the watch move a compass needle if magnetized? I don't want just any watchmaker opening it up, especially since it is under warranty, so here's my next question of does demagnetizing the watch require opening the case?
