Steinhart?

My husband has a TT black Sub but hardly ever wears it, because it would get destroyed at his job. We just received a magazine advertising Steinhart watches. In general we aren't big fans of homage watches (although I much prefer seeing a 20-something wearing a homage or fashion watch than no watch, and checking the cell phone).

We are, however, warming up to the idea of a homage to a vintage watch, because they are not widely available, and can be damaged more easily. I have a few vintage dress watches but rarely wear them because they are not waterproof or shockproof, and I am used to my super-durable Rolex. So, a Steinhart seems enticing.

Quality-wise, are Steinhart watches worth it?

Thanks.

I've handled a Steinhart watch up close. For the money, it is of excellent quality imo . . .

I have the Ocean Vintage Military (styled after the MilSub). It's a really well-made watch. It feels very robust, solid, heavy...and it has an ETA 2824 for an engine. I think they're great watches for a great price.

A great watch for those who think it is not safe to travel with a Rolex. I may pick one up to wear when painting, etc.

Are they of good quality? I often saw them in the local mall at good discount.

I've had a couple of Steinhart watches. They're alright for the money. Many of the designs pay homage to Rolex, so that's the appeal around TRF. They do make for a pretty nice beater and seem to hold their value pretty well.

I like their pilots. I may get another as I gave my last one to my dad. Great for the price

Steinhart good value for the money spent. Had a ocean vintage GMT but sold it and then got one of their pilot watches. They are well built and rock solid. However, their QC is a hit and miss affair...if you google Steinhart and read threads on other forums you will be able to have a better idea of what to expect.

Steinhart makes some amazing watches for the money. All that I've owned have felt and ran like they were 3-4x the cost.

Their marine chrono that I looked at the other day on line had a 7750, 44mm, sapphire crystal. Direct from Steinhart it was 732 euro. Not sure where to buy in the US but pretty cool for the $$

I wore an Ocean One Ceramic for 4 or 5 months daily and was a great watch when I was without a Rolex, now just sits in the watch box as I got a Sea Dweller again, I've thought about selling it, but like everyone else said for the money they are a great built beater
