Two Rolex or mix it up a bit?
Currently own an explorer and a sd 4000. Thinking of flipping the explorer plus cash for a bnib PAM 510. I think it would be nice to have a two completely different watches. Love the sd 4000 and that will be my everyday watch. Any thoughts from the crew would be appreciated.

The Pam is nice and if it was up to me I would definitely trade the explorer but depending on what explorer it is. it's always nice to have something different in a collection

I like the Explorer, it's the original James Bond watch. I would stick as I am if I were you, but I'm not. You should go for what you really want because that is what you will ultimately enjoy.
Good luck.

I think if you don't love watches equally you should let them go. Personally I am not a PAM fan but if you are sounds like a reasonable proposition.

I'd vote for a 111 over a 510.
Still like the expy though.

I have no faith in Panerai in-house and their lackluster service.

Wes, love the 372 and the 422 as well. Too big for me though.

This has to be a personal decision. I could see parting with an Explorer but wouldn't do so for a Panerai.

I get it. The expy is a great watch but I do have the sd 4000 as my rolex. Love the simplicity of the 510 and the abilty to change out straps on the fly. Can't beat good italian design!

Not a Pam fan keep the explorer. Unless it's for a PP..

Lots of other worthy brands
AP for sure, JLC, Omega, Panerai. Go explore at AD's (and you have a great one beginning with W in Manhatten) and see what else is out there.

Would not make that trade. There's something about Rolex watches. Timeless and absolute classics. Suits any kind of terrain, environment, social setting and attire. Panerais are rather dull in comparison
