Hmmm... Nice tool watch! The lugs are smoother than the GMTIIc .... much better lug shape than the GMTIIc, I think. It seems too heavy for daily use...

This Sea Dweller shows the two faces of Rolex: being able to create a watch that can withstand pressures up to 390 bar, proving they still are able to produce something of a mechanical wonder albeit not in the highly complicated movement department. On the other hand, this is another example of a shift to the louder. Who came up with that lettering? It reminds me of early eighties Japanese cars with ‘16V DOHC’ on both sides of the bonnet. Or the tendency to print the word ‘Professional’ on all kinds of objects.
I’m not sure if I like it but that is of no consequence. That the depth rating is superfluous to say the least is also of no consequence. They must have a new designer or a new executive to approve those new designs. I’ll be blunt about it, I don’t like it. (The lettering). Rolex doesn’t need this. And after having seen the new all blue Sub I’m asking myself: “Rolex, what are you doing?”.
