83.5 cents/L today, some stations as low as 81.9.
It would be much better if the price of oil went up though!

Taking into consideration our declined A$ vs US$ and conversion from modern metric into archaic imperial I believe we are around US$3.40 a US gallon at the moment. Slightly above the US but well under Europe/UK. Like most things it probably puts us close to Canadia.

I wonder how that feels... To be able to put full tank of gas in ones car for 30 euro. Would work of course if I only had a 4 gallon tank.

Bare in mind that Europe and Australia do not sell below 91 and more often 95 and 98 unleaded whereas in USA they still, sell, the real junk :)

3,7 Litre (1gallon) in Germany would cost you 5,55€ = $6,92 . I thought that would be much more cheaper in the US.
Good that my 440 HP BMW M4 just needs combined +-10l for having fun

By keeping economy car engine compression ratio down, and avoiding advancing timing, we can run down to 85-87 octane. Lower cost per gallon and still gets you from point A to point B.

Higher octane fuel is simply a method using expensive additives to retard predetonation under higher compression. It's no "better" but costs more.

I prefer the savings. With discounts I've been filling up at $2.36/gallon

Don't mean it like that. Europe and Aus don't really make cars anymore that are compatible withn the gas you still sell over. That's all.

Isn't so, Europe uses RON as an Octane rating while US and Canada uses AKI.

91 AKI octane is about 95 RON octane.

The RON Vs AKI thing is spot on. It's the same quality fuel. Best quality pump fuel I know of is Shell V-Power in Italy which is 100 RON. (V-Power is rest of Europe is 98 RON).

On the price thing, successive US governments for the last few decades must be ruing the fact that back in the day heavy tax was never put on fuel as it was in other Western countries. A whole huge tax income stream virtually untapped.

Wow, and the price and octane!

San Francisco is seeing ~$3.00 per gallon of premium, which is pretty cheap for the area.
