FS: FULL SET 1970 Rolex 1680 Red Submariner MKIV Dial - EU Deal

Reference 1680

Serial 2.43X.XXX puts the production year of the watch circa 1970

The case is in excellent condition with thick lugs and visible chamfer. No visible pitting or corrosion. Both the serial and reference numbers are clear and visible.

The dial is immaculate. There are no chips, spots or marks. The lume is intact and has a beautiful patina. The hands match the dial.

Stunning original fat font insert.

This is a solid, honest example.

Bracelet is a 78360 with 501B endlinks (10 links - 1 spare - total 11)

Watch comes with an inner and outer period correct box, hang tag, translation paper, Rolex wallet, booklets and a punched guarantee paper.

The price is 14,950 Euros. The watch and I are located in Brussels. Easy to ship within the EU, a little trickier outside of the EU. Shipping will be at cost by UPS.

The 1570 movement is keeping great time and I will arrange a shot of the movement to anyone that wants it. Don't have the correct tool to get the back off. However, the case back is correct and stamped IV.70 (I will confirm, once the back is off).

Please don't hesitate asking for HD scans of any part of the watch, happy to oblige.

Full sets with a watch of this quality are becoming impossible to find.
Long standing member of TRF and of course references are available.

I would also request some credible references from serious buyers.

Payment by wire transfer.

Refund policy: Full refund including return shipping if misrepresented or not authentic Rolex, otherwise final sale.

I prepared a short video of the watch - gives an extra dimension that images just don't do as well. Apologies if it's a little basic. Can be seen at the following link:

I've been asked a few times if the watch has been polished. I'm sure that a 44 year old watch has been polished at least once at service. My opinion on this case is that it hasn't been polished for a while and has clearly not been over polished. There is plenty of metal left on it and it would be for the new owner to decide if he/she wanted the case lightly detailed or left as is.

The bracelet is not original to the watch and is a later bracelet that is from a GMT. However, the bracelets are interchangeable and it works as well as a 91350. Not difficult to source one for approx $500.

It will be difficult to ship the watch to the US due to import restrictions. If you are planning a trip to Europe then we may be able to meet and do a face to face transaction.

I have been asked about my price and if I would reduce it. I'm aware that I've priced this watch at the top of the market, but I feel as though it's justified taking into account the condition of the watch and its full set status. I'm happy to consider offers, but I'm not prepared to give the watch away.

The only reason I'm selling it is simply that it gets overshadowed by my DRSD that tends to get all my attention and this just sits in the safe.

Great safe queen :-)

Image I took of the watch yesterday

Here's another from a few months ago on a leather NATO and a ghost insert
