A year done for an amateur flipper!

Well it's been a year of forum enabling and a few flips to reach my current ideal pair

I first sold off my Tag Carrera and Breitling Seawolf to gain my first grail a few years ago and luckily picked the second one to hit a local AD the 116610LN now that lasted me up until the beginning of the year and looked good on the bracelet and nato

Then I wanted to add a second watch and wanted something with PCL to add a little contrast at the same time enablers caught my attention on the 114060 so out went the 116610ln and in came

Then even though previously I had dismissed it the Daytona got me.. Just something about the white dial had me hooked so within a few weeks the Daytona was incoming

This lead to a nice trio

The 114060 lived on a nato and found when I put it back on bracelet it looked blocky and square quess I got used to the better profile of the Daytona so after a few AD visits found the additional funds were worth while so off when the Milgauss and Sub and in came the SD.

This leaves me with my current pair and I feel very lucky and blessed to be able to own two watches that a few years ago I could dream of

I give you my favourite Rolex tag team

That's the perfect Rolex pair, in my opinion. I took a slightly different path but ended up at the exact same place.

Congrats!

Thanks guys

Luckily I managed to secure the 116610LN back in 2010 with doscount so when I flipped earlier this year I was up this then evened out the small lost on the Millgauss and Sub, a plus though is I built up a buying history and got a good discount on the Daytona and a great price on the SD

I do have some buyer remorse though, I really miss the Millgauss but not for wearing just looking at it! I love how it looks in person and pics but not on the wrist!

And it feels weird not having a Sub in my collection, since being a young lad I always associated the Sub as the iconic Rolex, but in person now the SD wins hands down! However I like the Sub on nato and thing the chunky lugs actually help, given the current used price on the 114060 I may purchase one again and sell off the bracelet and keep it on nato which will work out as a relatively cheap pick up

If it makes you feel better, the original Sea Dwellers said "Submariner" on the dial as well as "Sea Dweller", so it is technically a Sub. A bigger, better, more badass Sub.

I have a manual job so tend to only wear my watches at weekends to two fold it's less hassle setting the date and as a rule I don't need to know the date as weekends just glad the weeks over hahaha obviously the SD is the exception but I find as its sans cyclops it's not as stand out! Hey a SD ND would be ideal for me!

Thats awesome. Love this thread. Shows the evolution of ones taste and how one watch can influence the attraction of another.
What a gorgeous pair you ended up with. Congrats and thx for posting.
