SubC Crystal Thickness

Anyone here have the thickness on this ? I've seen pics of the DSSD crystal thickness which is significant and a friend is telling me the Sub is the same thickness which I've refuted. Thanks.

Can't speak to the thickness but the crystals are obviously different. The DSSD is slightly domed while the Sub is not.

What a great picture Adrian. Do you have a side by side with the 116600?

Thanks,

Sorry no pictures right now😕

The 116600 uses crystal 25-295/4 which is the same crystal the 114060 uses 25-295/3 (different gaskets). It's the same thickness as the 116610 crystal in the picture sans cyclops

However the Sea-Dweller 16600 crystal 25-285 is about 2.5 times thicker than the 25-295 crystal.

That's interesting so the added depth rating of the 116600 hasn't required the crystal to be uprated over the Submariners however the previous model 16600 needed a thicker crystal!

Also that would indicate the raised crystal on the 116600 is purely cosmetic

If your friend is talking about JUST the thickness of the saphhire itself, technically, it would seem he's right.

Now, the shape is obviously different the DSSD is domed and the gasket is obviously thicker, and of course sans cyclops.
