Stealing Glances...
Being a hot stud I am used to girls stealing glances at me ( thats a complete joke btw).
Yet ever since wearing the Explorer 1, I've noticed people doing double takes at my wrist during conversation. I've worn more expensive watches without said effect. It's unexpected and a little disconcerting for such an understated watch. I can only imagine what wearing other models will do. Do Sub/Daytona/GMT etc wearers get this? |

I have a sub date ceramic and a djII, some ppl double take, others don't even notice I'm wearing a watch. All depends.

No, people are usually too mezmerised by my witty banter to notice my GMT.

Nobody ever notices mine...not noticeably, anyway.
I take that back. A few weeks ago at my company Christmas party a guy commented on my Daytona. He was wearing the exact same watch. It led to a cool 5-minute watch conversation. |

I was on a date, sitting at the bar, saw her eyes keep going to the GMT IIC, then she tapped the face a couple times, which annoyed me but it's good the ceramic can't be scratched.
At work, an older dr who I heard is a WIS was talking to me, but his eyes kept going down and sideways to my wrist. Most times I don't think it gets noticed but I might be wrong. I like how I can slide it under my shirt when I don't want attention. But I won't lie, I do like the attention and I think most rolex owners do too |

She tapped the watch... It's a faux pas if you wear a nicer watch than your consultant, unless you are the boss or he's wearing a Casio. Same goes for cars. |

Rolex is one of the few luxury brands to penetrate mainstream consciousness, so you're bound to get some attention. |

It could be that the wearer is more concerned and tuned into whether someone else is looking or remotely interested, and therefore notices more. Maybe a study would illustrate that people are just as likely to cast their eye over to a Timex, providing it's equally shiny, of course...

I've noticed the general public only seems to be interested in three types of watches. 1. Shiny watches(or fasion brands) 2. Pompously large watches 3. Rolex Everything else seems to be irrelevant. |

My two gold Rolexes have barely had any notice, I have got to get me to one of these gold-digging bars... just for research

Put your hands in your pockets and wait for them to say
"Is that a Rolex in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me ?" Lol

My ring gets noticed more and gets more compliments than anything I wear.

Nobody has mentioned this but I once came across a surgeon wearing an explorer I and I spent way too much time looking at his watch trying to figure out if it was in fact a Rolex and what model, from across the room of course. Once I was closer it is easy to tell but the explorer I has the benefit of no cyclops and sits more below the radar than say a gmt/sub/exp II/DJ. Reason I was so curious was A) the watch looked very sharp B) I needed a distraction. Normally I won't look twice. |

Interesting... One of those glancing at my Exp 1 was a radiologist. Maybe she needed a distraction from my boring banter. |

I catch people stealing glances at my various watches occasionally. The funny thing tends to be that the less expensive seem to get noticed more...
