Original or not?
Hello everyone,
I'm Alessandro and I would like to have your opinion about my watch. I received it from my grandfather after it's death but it doesn't have any document or box. At the top of the watch case (above 12 hours) I found the number 5500 and below it the writing REGISTERED DESIGN. On the watch case, below 6 hours I found the serial numer 420xxx. As you can see from the picture on the watch-face, below 6 hours, there is the written SWISS. I would like to ask you if you can help me to know if the watch is original, the year of production and an idea of it's value. Thanks in advance for any help! |

It's not possible to tell from a photograph if it is "original".
It appears to be authentic at a quick look, and was likely made in the late '50s, perhaps as late as '59. You can find values for these all over the Internet.

The SN given would indicate a manufacture date of about 1959. Value depends on originality and condition, so to get an idea check Chrono24 and Ebay (sold items) to get some ideas, but you'll probably see a wide range of prices depending on the above criteria.
