Icon9 Customized Rolex - what the ..... ???

I wonder if you guys have seen this:

http://www.discoverprohunter.com/concept/

http://bjsonline.com/watches/news/index.shtml

http://www.discoverprohunter.com/collection/

I wouldn't buy these - What about you?

PS: By the way, have a look at FAQs: e.g. "Q. Can the watch be serviced at a Rolex Service Centre?
A. No, As a General Rule, Rolex Service Centres do not service modified or customised watches. Therefore we have invested in our own service center based in London UK, with In House, Rolex trained, watch technicians."

The red one looks good but is that how it comes from the rolex factory or has this been customised after? if so i wouldn't buy it, Factory made, i would take a second look.

These watches and coating have been discussed on this forum many times and the average response is usually

I personally do not mind them, but they are not for me

Cristopher,

Of course they are customized - may I say (I.M.O.) "bastardized"?

I think ONLY Rolex should make custom models....

Cheers, thought so, in that case its not for me.

Yeah surely the value is lost if someone else customizes it?

Cristopher

FAQs:

Q. What papers come with the watch?
A. (i) The Original Rolex Guarantee Papers. However, we would like to be very clear to avoid any misunderstanding; As the Rolex Watch has been modified, the Original Rolex Guarantee would be treated as void by Rolex Service Centres.

Usually when Rolex service centers come across minor modifications (e.g. a brushed bracelet - the original being polished, an aftermarket bezel of dial, etc.) they restore to the original condition.

With this .... eehm, how can I say it.... I am curious what they would do...

Keep in mind that any qualified watchmaker is capable of servicing your Rolex. Most people prefer the peace of mind that comes with having Rolex service it. Obviously if your Rolex is still under warranty then they will service it, however as stated above, Rolex will not service these modified watches (or they would return it to its original state)

Sean you think they would restore all this to the original? I mean...non-reflective black coating on the caase, dials, engraved casebacks...

How they can ask nearly £5k above the price of a new SD for their modifications?

well. why do people customise their cars? same reasons, personal taste, you dont like it, you can walk away. no one has held a gun to your head forcing you to buy it.

With only the red lettering in "Sea- Dweller"n(or just leaving it as it is in white) and "Pro-Hunter" may be in the caseback....that PVD looking is....great!!!

I'd rather spend £200 on an MWC or something. Maybe even a Traser or Luminox. Those things are just crazy. How rich (or naff) and how many Rolex watchs (or JlC, IWC,PP,Omega etc) do you need to own before you shell out good watch money on a bastidised version of one of these?

Personally, i love these watches, and im guessing many others have the same feeling as these sold out within 2 or 3 month..

my watch dealer/ collector helper, has 2 and i wore one the other day to get a feeling and must say i have fallen for these, yes they dont give you the original rolex warranty but where will you ever see one such as, Pro Hunter gives you their own warranty, and if you look/ research him and his products you can see its no joke. look at his recently new finiancial entourage, you will see these are high up people.

im buying one next week, great with a polo for golf, everyone at the country club will admire and question, 1 of 100, come on now!!

if your interested in buying one you can contact me or just go to my dealer who specializes in rare antique watches www.EXOTICWATCHES.net

hope this helps some

I do like the fixed lugs. That would certainly give me peace of mind for using the NATO strap on the sub.
