Oyster identification

Good day gents.

Was hoping i could get some help identifying an old oyster may pick up from a local watch shop.
Was told was from the 40s but cannot find any info.
Missing the crown and stem so does not run presently.
Looks like the buckle is original as well.

Definatley been redialed, judging by the CB itbeither was originally an auto wind, or it has an improper caseback

Nope, extreme late fifties or first half of the sixties. Regardless, just pass, this thing is a mess

How much? Not a bad watch really excepting the redial.

If the price is right I'd take it.

20mm lugs or 19?

If they're 20 I would DEFINITELY take it.

So...it needs a service and a crown and stem...

Looks like a 6426. What is the reference number inside the case back?

Never even got that far to be honest as I was looking at something else and the owner pulled this out of a back room to show me as we got to talking watches.
Asked him if I could take a couple pics and would let him know if I was interested or not as I knew nothing about it or what it would take to get it to work.
Would not have the slightest idea of value.

Inside the case back says 6424 reference

Considering it would need stem, crown and likely dial (if I can find them) and service, any sense of the value here?

Roughly $800 to $1k in the condition, would be worth quite a bit more with an original dial, but would be hard to find an age appropriate replacement

Stem and crown are standard items.

6424 it seems if I do a little detective work...is the 19mm lug 34 mm case because it uses the 530 crown. I COULD be wrong..but logically...the 6426 I know is 36mm and it uses a 600 crown. So connecting the dots you see.

Worth a little less but still a nice watch potentially.

Calibre 1210 stem no problem. 530 crown no problem.

Other way around, 6426 is 34mm and 6424 is 36mm

I see that by the crystal size you are right...but they use the opposite crown from the size they should....weird..

The 6424 takes a 530 crown and the 6426 takes a 600.

Makes absolutely no sense...welcome to the world of Rolex.
