Breguet - Quality and (owning) cost?
Hi all,
I'm considering getting a Breguet Type XXI, a watch I've wanted for a long time. When thinking about the watch I suddenly got a feeling that I've read that it's quite expensive to own, and it breaks down quite often. Are these notions correct? Would I be shooting myself in the foot, money wise, buying this watch? What are your thoughts? //nejo |

As far as i can tell Breguet is not really reliable in quality terms...and if you buy a new one..soon as u walk out of the store...value degraded about 50%...but..watches are beautiful...I would not make a issue of it...just buy when you feel comfortable..

I've got a Type XX with no issues. I'm sure it will be expensive to service eventually, but it seems to be a well made, tough watch. It's the only chrono I have with 100m of WR, though the pushers aren't screw down.

Personally I think Breguet are one of the top watch houses and are one of the few pioneers in haute horology.
I had the base Type XX. It was always spot on, no issues. Cant comment on service costs. And yes buy used if you can. James |

Breguet is using decades tested Lemania base movements so I seriously doubt there are any reliability issues...they are very beautiful watches

I just did a quick google search and learned that Lemania was a very successful movement and watch company that eventually was purchased by Breguet. Which in turn is owned by the Swatch group. So perhaps a more accurate way to say it is Lemania is Breguet. |
