iPhones are very cool, at least from what I could tell from playing with one for a bit at the Apple store!

Congrats, Velitsko!

Sorry if I got you concerned Frostie, but don't worry. The iPhone's AWESOME!!. I'm just comparing it to my previous phone, a Motorola Nextel, push to talk, walkie talkie phone.

As a phone next to the ear it's great. But on speakerphone, It could e louder. My assumptions are from my former Nextel which had PTT (walkie talkie). The walkie talkie could wake a neighborhood.

Part of it too is my Otterbox Defender case (otterbox.com) all that plastic and rubber mute the speaker a bit. It's louder without the case.

But my old Nextel is nothing compared to the features of the iPhone. I especially like the web features. I use the email/web feature more than the phone. I really rack up the internet usage. EDGE is pretty good in Hawaii. It's not broadband, but I have no problems surfing. Plus the cable company that provide our service has wireless hotspot all over the island.

Anyway. Congrats.

Aloha!

I have never owned or played with an Ipod. I like the way the apple laptops look but I don't like the Mac OS. I like Windows. I think the iphone is a great gadget but too rich for my blood.

Congrats on your iphone! I've had mine since the day it came out last June. I've been an apple junkie since the Apple II in the late 70's-early 80's. I am a former Mac Genius and a current Apple Consultant. I still have my apple badge from Cupertino.

I get just about everything apple makes, currently have MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac Pro, iphone, ipod touch, 3 versions of nanos and 2 shuffles as well as a classic ipod, airports, time capsule etc.

Congrats frostie, like watchlady, I have also had mine since june. I will admit I do miss my keyboard on my blackberry, but other than that I like the fact that I can be running on the treadmill listening to music and when I get an incoming phone call, it patches it right though. Before this I missed many a phone call.

Very cool. I bought one for my wife. She's enjoying it quite a lot.

Hi Frostie,

I have had my iphone since last August andI have to say I love mine. I use it all the time, including surfing here on TRF.

I can't imagine not having one and I am sure when this one wears out, I will get another.

Congrats on yours, also be sure to get the updates every once and a while, they do improve the performance of the phone and sometimes add features.

Thanks a lot

Mine is the 1.1.4 firmware and they have made some imporvements which is good. For example you can send multiple messages, you can arrange the icons on the springboard etc.

Apple is always full of ideas i wonder how cool the iphone 2 will look i mean it can't get any cooler than the iphone 1 in terms of design or performance. Maybe they will make an even cooler interface but nobody knows

Here it is.

It is basically the 8800 with WiFi.
Fantastic device, and it is what I use as my work phone.

It seems that blackberry phones are selling a lot in the US

Here in europe we are dominated by nokia and sony ericsson

We use HTC too

I got my 2 iPhones on day 1 (for me an the wife), then got 2 more right after the price drop for my 2 boys. It's a great phone, with room for improvement that certainly will come over time. While the 3G phone is in the horizon, I have no issues with EDGE. I might trade up to a 3G when they come out IF the battery life is not hit too hard. In the mean time, it works great as is.

Not familiar with that function. What is it? How do I access it?

The thing is I'll just have to wait

I am not an Apple guy and I am not sold on the iPhone.

I'll take my old faithful BlackBerry Pearl 8100 any day of the week. Works like a champ. I may upgrade to the 8120, which has WiFi.

I am cool with EDGE. I hear that 3G is a battery burner.
