That is pretty cool. To be able to say that you are supplying Rolex with parts.

I see only Tools has managed to grasp what is going on here. Rolex probably threw the bracelet in the trash when received.

In all seriousness, it would be very interesting to see their buy/sell history. So OP, if you don't mind, we'd love to know their ebay name… I don't think you are in breach of any ethics as far as the forum is concerned.
I'll buy you a beer!!

This is a very curious situation...the sale could have been for 1 of many reasons....
(a) Rolex wants to get parts off the market;
(b) Rolex needs this part to use in servicing a watch they have on hand;
(c) A Rolex employee is buying it for himself;
(d) Rolex thinks it is an aftermarket clone...
(e) None of the above...

Very interesting to say the least

As the payment came from "Rolex Service Center", I vote for option B.

Not sure what to make of RSC doing this. Interesting and unusual!

Actually what's the bracelet that you sold them. Any photos of it.
It's quite a low price if it's a full bracelet.

Doubt t, they could spend 24/7 everyday of the year trying to get things of eBay, you think they would single out one bracelet to target

My guess they needed the links for some crazy reason...

This^

Silly notion to think RSC is going to purchase fakes on eBay....you would have to employ a team around the clock- not going to happen.

RSC would not want to line the pockets of people selling fakes just to get them off the market. It would only encourage more people to sell fakes.

Guys, the OP said the address is his local RSC. His signature is in CA so this maybe a previous RSC watchmaker or so. Paypal user names mean nothing.

How about the link to the original listing, it won't show the buyers user, but would be interesting to see what they bought.............

The shipping address belongs to the SF RSC.

I just thought it was interesting and wanted to share. I didn't expect the thread to take on several working theories. RSC does repairs and maintenance. For those that have visited one in person, they have nothing to do with retail. My vote is theory (B). The people at RSC in SF are incredibly friends and helped me with an ebay dispute at no charge. It took up quite a bit of time.

The idea that a service center would "try to get parts off the streets" is romantic, to say the least.

So silly.

Op, I think he was addressing some members that were saying the rsc was buying the bracelet just to get parts off the market, and how that was quite unrealistic. Please keep sharing

This is an interesting one. eBay/PayPal user names mean nothing but the fact that the OP said the shipping address is the local RSC suggests to me that they need these parts for something. Maybe it's not for a customers watch but a Rolex employee/manager that they are going the extra mile for.

I apologize for some members that might come off in a rude way. They don't mean harm and some have quite dry humor. It's hard to tell by reading online. Overall, everyone here are a good bunch. I enjoyed your post and thanks for sharing.
