Didn't realize protein was important to lose weight. I'm just counting calories. about 2 lbs per week in 3 weeks.

My breakfast is small (100-200), lunch is medium(500-900), snack (200) and then small dinner (500-800).

You literally get fat from too much carbs and sugars. You can eat all the lean meat and low carb veggies you want. You won't get fat.

This is based on you exercising moderately. Just do cardio or get out and move.
That's the plan Stan... er, ah Bruno!

If don't eat protein you lose muscle. Less muscle equals slower metabolism. It's a vicious circle.

You want to lose fat and keep as much muscle as possible.

Makes sense. I'm a meat and veggie guy. Carbs are ok, but I don't crave them. I'll be more mindful of my protein thanks to this thread.

My goal is better fitting pants and staying there.

The best way to lose fat is kick the start the body right out of bed, one cup of coffee and 45 minutes on the treadmill and or doing P90x and then breakfast and go about your day..

Losing weight without working on your metabolism is very hard.

I would recommend resistance training at least three days a week plus cardio.

That's true, but it's a good pretty good mix. I usually stock up when it's on sale.
