After 9 months of daily use my BLNR runs an honest +2 SPD when worn 24/7. If I put it crown up overnight I can get the daily average to be closer to +.5 SPD, losing ~ a second in that position overnight. I sleep with my watch on and I'm very happy with +2 SPD. If I'm very active (which is not too often) or rest it face up it can get to closer to +3 SPD.
About every week I pull the crown out and hack it for 10 seconds to set it back to atomic time. |

While -4s/d is within COSC, it's a minor adjustment, well within Rolex's capabilities, to get your watch sped up and to its tighter (hence the term, "superlative") standards. It's not at all uncommon to have to wind an automatic watch occasionally. Typically once a week. Average daily wear winds the watch at a ratio between 1:1 and 2:1, depending on activity level. Finally, you'll almost always have SOME positional variance with a watch regarding how it's rate varies with respect to how you place it on your desk when not wearing it. But a chronometer attempts to minimize those variances, as the watch must fall within that COSC standard for a minimum of the five positions it's tested in. |

For the first time in 2 months, I wound my SubC on Sunday, maybe 40-50 turns. I checked the time occasionally for the past 3 days and the delta is consistently zero. Amazing...
So, at least for my watch, wearing it daily does not give it enough juice to be accurate (of course, accuracy is a relative word in this case). |

My Hulk which I bought new last April loses a minute a month. Unusual since Rikki told me that Rolex prefers a watch to be timed out to run fast preferably over running slow. But, hey they are worked on by humans and they are mechanical not quartz. Since it is within spec I will probably leave it be. Now my Bluesy which was serviced by Rik a year ago is set up absolutely dead on. It is more accurate now than ever in it's 18 year history.
Rik is definitely one of the best in the book. |

Give it some time to "run in."

Been waring the DJ W two weeks now, off at night, wind 25 turns/day, it's settled at +2 S/day.
Serviced @ JOT before purchase. I'm happy with that, will try the 'crown down' routine. Bob |

My Explorer ran 1 - 2 SPD slow for the first few months. After about 4 months it sped up to be dead on. I found that positioning it face up did help speed it up a little. I tried winding regularly, but soon left it to self winding. I also found that leaving it in really cold temperatures (off wrist in a ski cabin next to an open window) caused it to lose several seconds overnight.
Based on my experience (a sample size of one!)I agree that you should let it 'run in' a bit longer. |

For the past 6 days, I worn my watch 10 hours per day, mostly desk diving. I am starting to think that this watch needs manual-winding very few days to satisfy my OCD needs. |

My Milgauss was +3s/day when I just got it. After months of wearing it is now spot on. I believe in the 'break-in' theory now!

My Ball broke in after a few months and now runs about 5 seconds fast a week. My subc however is a little over a week old and has gained two seconds in that time per my phone. Needless to say I am pretty happy with that!

I adjusted time on my GMTc 8 or 9 months ago. Now it is about a minute in advance. Accuracy & Reliability; what need I more?

I apologize in advance for the noob question, but how do you all check the accuracy of your watches?

Accuracy App
I use Watchtracker App. Currently showing my SubC Date running +3.8 seconds per day over the last 9 days while being worn 24/7 and with no interim manual wind sessions. Adequate for my needs. You can track multiple watches with this app, claims to sync with online atomic clock and adjusts for network delay. My radio calibrated Citizen can't fine the Ft. Collins broadcast here in Hawaii.
