Quickie Question: 1979 Air King
Hello friends,
A quickie question. Would (or could) an authentic Rolex Air King 5500 from 1979 have a 1530 movement? I tried looking it up myself but I just found any answer I came up with confusing. The answer I came up with, by the way, is a confused "no." Any insights? Thanks, Vinnie Vegas |

Hm, no. Maybe it's just a 1530 bridge on a later movement?
A 1530 movement will tick 5 times per second, and it does not hack (meaning the seconds hand does not stop when you pull the crown out). A 5500 from 1979 should tick 5.5 times per second, and it should hack. |

Surely a 1530 movement from 1979 should hack?

More likely to be a 1520 in the 5500
