There were so many good (and funny) responses to this thread that I didn't know which one to quote in my own post. So I'll just say, good going guys!

I actually agree with everything in his post. I would have put it less caustic but he is right. The fake surprise that Rolex didn't release each member's personal dream watch, the clamour to nickname new pieces, etc. I think this forum could do with more stories, pictures, insightful questions and comments, and less aforementioned filler.
Not mad at all. Just my two cents. |

I think its a big enough forum to allow for all kinds of nicknaming nonsense, hype, excitement, and angry rants. After all, what kind of rolex forum would it be without it?
Lighten up OP, slap on some Bill Withers and see the beauty of it all when the light comes shining through |

Being controversial seems do be very in vogue these days here at TRF. I feel the need to come up with my own head shaking thread.
How bout " Does anyone else's Rolex smell like cheese?" Or "If you could be any watch what would you be and why??" I got it! I got it ! How bout "Is your underwear and your Rolex a match??"

Me too, and I think to be fair it was a rant amongst friends, for those who have taken it personally, not sure why. I will let you all in a very special secret...... these are inanimate metal objects that serve a functional purpose. It is ultimately a very narrow "pool" of stuff that can be discussed it is why TRF really is ground hog day.... does my wrist look thin in this (the answer is yes, even though most of you say no because you are polite), is it safe to wear my watch to breakfast, do red hands look better than black, is this watch fake the letters look too far apart etc...... all power to those of you who have lasted 40,000 posts, and no I am not planning to go away but there are a number of posts that get very emotional about very minor things....... Passion or otherwise, I do chuckle a lot.... and while I am sharing on this rant, not one of you found my recommendation for the the nickname of the new YM the least part funny, Lexington Steele, the most famous African American porn star, known for gold chains and wearing Trojan "rubber"..... at least I laughed at it when I wrote it. I will be quite now..... resume the debate on clasps.....

Like water on a ducks back round here.
I did say to my wife during my journey home today that I had some new watch porn (what she fondly refers to TRF as) for her to look at from people's Basel pics. This is our ComicCon, our Super Bowl, our car show. We love to rave and rant and moan. If we didn't then the watch companies would be in a while $hitheap of trouble!!!
