Father gifts his first rolex to his son

Grew up watching my father wear this watch. Yesterday he handed this to me at our watch dealers office. Said happy birthday. It's very sentimental and I was shocked. Of course I asked if he was ok and If there was anything wrong! He said nope just wanted you to enjoy this while I was still here and can watch you with it. Very nice and moving gift. Every time I look at it I think of him. Guess that's the point. Well. Enjoy. Rich

That's great. My boys are both very young but I already think about the special things I will pass on to them when they are older. Enjoy!

The watches I will be leaving to my son ?

My 1675 ( 1967 ) , Tudor Sub ( 1971 ) , IWC Mark XV (2006 ) , IWC Boys Watch
(1952 ), Omega Seamaster ( 1972 ) plus 10 assorted Casios , Seiko Diver's watches and , wait for it , a Swatch Automatic . The reason why I have put a question mark in the title of this post is ...... " Why does anyone need a watch Dad , if I need to know the time .... I can look at my Mobile/ Cellphone ? " . That's why I'll sell the lot and put the money towards my Grandaughter's Educational Fund . Where did I go wrong with that boy ? .

Great story Rich; I know that you will treasure it forever...

It doesn't even need to be a Rolex to have sentimental value!
