email from Michael Young regarding a price increase.

Just wanted to let everyone know.. Michael Young just emailed me to tell me my SS bracelet is ready. It only took 4 weeks to complete the work. Cant wait to see the results! Ill be sure to post some before/after pics of his magic.

Also, He informed me that as of March 2015, the price for a SS refurb is now $180 USD (up from 150). still a bargain if you ask me!

Just wanted to let you all know

Does $180 include full serv (movt, case, bracelet)?
Seems too low

Yes, the $180 is for a SS bracelet refurbish. In my case the clasp was broken so that was an extra 30$ to repair so I think "repairs" are on a case by case basis in addition to the reconditioning costs ( which do seem low considering the amount of work involved). My bracelet was REALLY stretched. 28$ to ship it back to the states.

Surely there is someone in the states that can do this work? Shipping all the way to China would scare the crap out of me!

Just the bracelet is shipped. Unless it has sentimental value attached, it should be okay if you insure it with the carrier.

Believe me I was NERVOUS. but after reading the countless glowing reviews here and elsewhere, along with stunning before/after pictures, I said to hell with it. I just made sure my Jewelers Mutual policy would cover any funny business (it did) and then shipped it off. Aside from the fact that it was completely shot, tons of slack, and a broken clasp, It was hard to hand it to the Fed-ex employee. However, Fed-ex delivered the package 4 days later and an email from MY confirmed their receipt. 4 weeks its on its way back.

If you have seen before and after pictures of his work you would gladly pay the $180 and smile. I had a friend that sent his TT jubilee to MY and it came back pretty much like new. And he sent it to him because it fell off of his wrist from all the stretch.

TT is more than $150 (now $180).

It's HK. That's a bit different in my mind.

Deal with confidence. Michael is top notch and he provides a service virtually no one else does and he does great work! He did a TT jubille for me circa 1982 - turned out great.

Yeah, as with pretty much everything (except foreign affairs) the HK postal system is completely separate from the Mainland China system. It's extremely reliable (and affordable). I've never had a package go astray in more than 25 years of using it.
