July Arrival of DSSD in Melbourne
Dear All,
Received a telephone call from my AD today here in Melbourne. The AD is expecting the first DSSD to arrive hopefully during the month of July. The AD also advised that between July and the end of the year they are anticipating two to three DSSD's. I cannot wait to see the DSSD in the flesh. The MSRP will be $10,905.00 (Aus). Too much for me. I was further advised that the new arrivals of the DSSD will be offered first to VIP customers. The other good news is that the AD offered me a discount on the SS GMT IIc when I am ready to buy in a few months time. On another note, the AD stated that there is a likelihood that there may not be any price inceases here in Australia due to the value of our dollar. I'll still stick with the SS GMT IIc. Michael |

That's good news Michael, why don't you get both the GMT and the SDDS, you know you deserve both
P.S. we are having a beer tonight so I expect to see you there!

Did they also say when they'll get another 14060M COSC? None of the 2 ADs got one and the only 14060M they got is Non-COSC.
BTW, LK got 2 GMT2c on display since early April. You may wanna check if they also offer discounts (you can always try layby!) |

Do you think I am rich enough to afford both. Not likely. One at a time for me. You could always loan me the money for the DSSD at a 0% rate? Cannot make the beer tonight. The renos started last Wednesday week and have been going strong this week. I have a lot to do tonight and tomorrow. There's lot of last minutes things that I need to tidy up. Gill and I are flying up to Noosa Heads early Sunday morning for 10 days. I need some warm weather. I'm on annual leave at present. Not back at work until June 30. I'll catch up with you and James when I get back from Queensland. Michael |

In answer to your questions, I did not ask. Not ready just yet to pull the trigger on the SS GMT IIc. Must keep the wife on an even keel and get the renos out of the road. The renos are looking pretty damn good so far. Already had the ensuite gutted, plasterboard fitted and waterproofed. Plus, two out three new Colonial windows fitted and all the associated brickwork done too. I am happy so far. I was then planning on snapping up the next SS GMT IIc at THG and putting it on layby, so that it does not get away. THG only offers a 2 month layby. Then, I'll just pay cash for it. Michael |

G'Day Rudolph,
Eight weeks in total. 4 weeks leave and 4 weeks long service leave. I only get 9 weeks leave per annum. With our recent Enterprise Bargaining Agreement, I will now have the ability to purchase an additional two weeks annual leave. I've had it with my job at the moment. The more leave I can acquire per annum will be less time spent at work. Only four and a half years to go before I reach retirement at 30 years service. Not that I am counting of the days of course. Then I am out. I'm only going to work to keep the investments ticking over. Michael |

Some dealers may get before I guess - that's my AD's indication. I'm off to Red Sea in June/July - so the Planet Ocean/Sub it is !!

I don't mind being called a 'reject' so long as you and your lovely wife cook up some great 'hot' food' when I come over with my wife. My style of a hot favourite food is Vindaloo. Just love it. If my heart wasn't set on the SS GMT IIc I would consider the DSSD, but only after trying it on would I know if it was for me or not. I would like the feel of a 43mm case. I do prefer slightly larger watches. My wrist size is only just over 7 inches in the old scale. If I could pull a swifty to get classified as a potential VIP, I would consider the DSSD even though it's a couple of grand more than the SS GMT IIc. Michael |

The AD has 'promised' to call me when the first DSSD arrives so that I can slip into town, have a look at it (maybe drool too) and try it it on. If I can arrange a wrist shot I will seriously do it. Downside to this is that I am not a 'VIP' customer. I might do some groundwork on that issue. My money is as good as the next person's. I'm good for the cash anyway. Having said that, I could always make them an offer they can't refuse. Michael |

OMG! 9 weeks leave a year? Poor me... 4 weeks p.a. and have to take it in chunks! Does your 9 weeks include Long Service Leave? If so, that's a little more palatable... Still, meh ... 9 weeks!

The 9 weeks leave per annum does not include Long Service Leave. A set amount of Long Service Leave is pre-determined at 10 years, 15 years, 20 years and so forth. If I choose to purchase the additional 2 weeks annual leave, I'l have 11 weeks in total per annum. Not as many holidays as Teachers though. I would not do their job for quids. I was brought up in the days of the leather strap and the cane at school. I am old school when it comes to discipline... Just my opinion here, but it did not hurt me while I was gowing up. I would sooner deal with offenders (Perps - US Police Terminology) than deal with unruly school children. Michael |
