Discounts on a Rolex?
I bought a brand new Mens' TT DJ exactly 4 days ago.
I'm reading about discounts being offered by various dealers. Are these discounts on brand new watches? I was led to believe that on new purchases Rolex determines what their authorized dealers charge, and if they deviate from that figure they run the risk of the mother company pulling the plug and they will no longer be allowed "Authorized Dealer" status. Is this true? Or should I have shopped around for my brand new baby? |

Enjoy your watch. Don't worry about "what could have been" on pricing.

exactly why are you pondering on the price now after you have bought it? it will only rub salt in open wounds and diminish your enjoyment of your watch

joe, as said above, enjoy your new watch...
from past studies...it seems this is a case of cognitive dissonance.

I just bought a SS Datejust with a white dial last Sunday, I had the choice of 18 months same as cash or 10% off, tag price was $5400 I took the same as cash, I got it at J.E. Caldwell in Delaware, no tax!
I haven't looked around for a new Rolex in 6 years or so when my parents bought theirs, at that time my Dad bought a GMT and paid around $3500, my mom's SS DJ was $2700, and to se how much they have gone up is amazing! I have 2 vintage Rolexes, a two tone date with a white dial and small roman numerals I think mid 80's oyster bracelet and a SS silver dial jubilee bracelet from around 1969. |

Welcome and Congrats. 15-20% off is the norm that I shoot for.

What is keeping my local AD from up-pricing the GMTIIc? The greys are stating that they can acquire/sell one for MSRP + $1200. Aren't ADs required by Rolex to sell it at (or below) their sticker price?
