Newbie here...Do you shower with your Rolex :-)?
Gents... I am anticipating to get my 16710 or 116710 next week!! Not sure which model yet... its a gift from a good friend. Will post pics when I do have it on my wrist.
I have a habit of wearing my watches to sleep and the only time it comes off is when I am taking a shower or swimming. This goes for watches with leather straps. For watches with s/s bracelets.... it doesn't come off at all. I had an Oris Carlos Coste and I shower with it, swim with it and doing dishes with it :-) Since Rolex is so durable/dependable/ waterproof(?)this incoming 16710 or 116710, I will wear it to sleep/shower/swim etc. Is it a good practice? Thanks guys and look forward to spend more time here Bruce |

I wore mine this week swimming and then showered with it. I wasn't going to leave it lying around in a public gym, and a Rolex is at home underwater, right?
Don't sleep with it on though... |

Funny I never used to but I find myself sleeping with it more and more. Maybe 1 or times a week now.

I don't shower with my watch, but I'm sure it would survive if I chose to...
By the way, there are ladies as well as "gents" in here. :) Paul |

Probably not a good idea since soap would build under the watch. I think is better to leave it apart before you shower. Good idea to shower with it if you are at the gym or in places were people you don´t know are around.

No I don't and I don't really have a good reason why I don't either. I will sleep with mine on from time to time. That's all.

If I find myself in a cheap hotel I might keep it on when I sleep..
As far as showering......I don't understand this.... Aren't you afraid you might scratch yourself with it, or get some hair caught up in the bracelet and causing yourself some harm

Shower 5-6 days a week at the gym and never take it off there, but do when I shower at home. Gym not a safe place to leave it in a locker.

Every time! I figure once a fortnight shouldn't hurt anything.

I sleep, eat, drink, mow the yard, and more (wear it 24/7 unless I am doing something that can kill it) and yes shower wearing my Rolex, it's a friggin Rolex Submariner...tough as nails. Once every two weeks I use my ultrasound to clean the bracelet and clasp and use a fine tooth brush to clean around the bezel. I don't Submerge it in the ultrasound, I have heard of people doing it but I dont think all that ulrasonic vibration can be good on delicate parts of the movement.
P.S. It is insured against accidental damage, theft or loss. |

Wear it permenantly, always have. With my previous Rolex' too i never took them off. I even wear it when on the wrenches, or logging, whatever, they wash up fine in the shower after. Sure they can scratch a little, but its a tool watch. If i had a platty, or some thing showy, Cellini or DD or maybe something in TT or gold, then i would think twice about wearing it for work, or when dooing rough stuff, but then thats one reason i dont have such a watch!
Its there to tell me the time, wherever and whenever i want it too. My Rolex' have been in some very unplesant places i can assure you.

Thats a bit of a personal question, what I do in the shower is MY business. And yes I sometimes do,with no lasting side effects.

Nope.....
....I put them on in the AM and put them to bed after work. THEN my old Seiko goes on, even before I get my shoes off. I even keep them covered in the rain as much as possible!!!!!!!
Reason....want them to look as good as possible, as long as possible. No build-up of soap or anything else. Sincerely, Stan. |

Try showering with your girlfriend, it's more fun and it will make you want to quit obsessing about a damn watch for a few minutes. . . or seconds anyway. LOL

The first time I decided to wear it in the shower with the wifey, she said: "The watch goes or I go!!" I threw her out!!

I shower and swim with it on all the time. Even dunk it in jewelry cleaner every once in a while to remove the soap scum. Never had a problem in 22 years as long as I keep the crown screwed down.

The only time my Rolex comes off is to play golf or to switch watches. Showering can't possibly be bad for the watch.
