Which one looks better...on me?

This is my first post, and I typically don't post on forums. However, I have been torn and unable to decide between two really beautiful watches, so I was hoping y'all could help me. It is to be my 40th birthday gift and I want to make sure I make the right decision -- not just for now, but for 10-15 years from now, if that makes sense.

I am choosing between the midsize ladies DJ and the DD -- YG, mother of pearl diamond dial, and diamond bezel. Objectively looking at the two watches, hands down, I would choose the DD...no hesitation. Unfortunately, my wrist is only 5.5" and so that's the dilemma.

Here is a picture of the two watches on my wrist. I realize that with the bracelet hanging down, it's hard to tell what they would look like once properly sized, but that's the other thing -- does anyone know if I removed all 7 removable links on the DD, if it would fit a 5.5" wrist?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Here's one more picture of the DD, with the extra links "tucked under." [Sorry, the picture attached funny and is turned around.]

For some reason, the 31mm seems dressier to me, and I am usually dressed very casually. Ugh, the indecision...! I finally posted here because I'm driving my husband crazy!!!

I think you could pull off either one. It sounds like you're leaning towards the DD though - and if that's the case, get it.

Go for the DD.

You know you want it and I personally think it looks more than fine on you.

The DJ seems to fit you just a bit better but they're both stunning and you can't go wrong with either one. Let us know what you decide. I'm sure the choice between the two is driving you nuts but that's half the fun.

Agreed. Otherwise you will regret the decision if you don't get what you truly want.

He's going crazy because he's paying for it or because you couldn't decide.

Anyway, +1 for Day Date. Looks great on you.

It's definitely driving me nuts...! It's such a hard decision for me that I *almost* want to choose something completely different.

Here are the biggest pros/cons of each, the way I see them:

31mm - Pros: fits my wrist better, size-wise, and I won't have to worry about whether I can remove enough links / Cons: I just love the DD, and this one seems dressier

36mm - Pros: gorgeous, and tends to appear more casual / Cons: my wrist size, and will I still want to wear this when I'm 60?

He is very decisive...I'm super indecisive and make a meal out of everything!

He's going crazy because I can't/won't choose and he just wants me to pick one and be happy with it (forever -- he says I'm not getting another). He's just tired of me asking him what he thinks over and over again, showing him the same wrist shots. LOL

Haha my wife the same way (indecisive). Most of the time I'd have to make decisions for her since she couldn't decide.

I think the DJ is a better fit. The oversized look may be a trend.

I'd vote for the 31 in the gold, leaving you open to getting a stainless or white in the 36, which would be more casual and visually arresting.

I think the DJ is a slightly better fit, but not to say the DD looks silly. I would go with the DD, it's a true classic and you seem to like it better. Go back to the AD and maybe see if there is a full length mirror to see how it looks from a 3rd person perspective!

If it was a mens watch would be easier to choose DD over DJ for the beautiful bracelet..

But the fact president bracelet is available on ladies DJ makes this harder!!

(in my opinion-maybe president bracelet does lot mean a lot to you)

I can tell you are drawn to the Day Date and lets face it, it is a day date:). The DJ as you say does fit your wrist better. Your other comment "will you still want to wear it when your 60" that would concern me. Are larger watches on women a trend? Will it become a timeless look...who knows. IMHO they are both very dressy watches but would look equally classy with both dressy and casual looks. The 31mm could without question be worn and relevant until you are 100 and I would lean that way for what it is worth. As others have said this is the fun part of watches there are always two I am deciding between and no matter which way I go I always still want the other a bit.

I think the DD looks fine.
I have 6" wrists and my sport models look very nice.
It's harder to judge from pictures, and they to tend to over exaggerate the size.
Personally can't find myself going back to smaller watches anymore after wearing 40MM sub/gmt for a while.

Either way both do look nice; Pick whichever sings more to you.

Get the Day-Date, looks good on your wrist to me. Women tend to wear them like bracelets anyway, seen plenty of women with tiny wrists sporting them.

If price is not a problem, there is no reason to be looking at the Datejust imo.
