You always want your children to do better than you did. It is really what you can afford. At this point in my life, I am fortunate to give my son that type of gift and pay for his education. Those are my beliefs and to each his own. The real gift was his college education which he will benefit from for the rest of his life and from the looks of it I think he is well on his way!! The watch was icing on the cake for his hard work and he is a very humble kid who knows the value of what he received!
I can definitely dig that and well said. He is a lucky man to have a such a thoughtful father and supportive family.

I have 2 year old twins, and I agree that I want them to experience better than I did. I grew up in Barry Farm projects in SE DC during the height of the crack epidemic; thankfully they will never, ever have to know that.

The idea of receiving such an expensive gift that young is just foreign to me so please understand that Im conveying a decided lack of familiarity rather than anything that should resemble criticism.
