Sub after DeepSea: Opinions Wanted
So I was at my AD over the weekend ans I have had in itch and a half to get a Sub. I am currently wearing a SDDS, and love it, but tried on a Hulk and Bluesy and want both!
So my first question is for those who own both a DeepSea and a Sub. Do you find the weight of the DeepSea is such that you don't like going back to your Sub? Second question is my wife and I bought my father a bluesy for his 60th, 5 years ago. Do you think it would be weird to own the same watch as your father? I guess that's more a personal preference but was looking to see if anyone has the same situation out there. Thanks and happy Memorial Day. CB |

I have both, I need both. I find the sea dweller slightly nicer to wear.

I actually found the DSSD too much once I had gotten used to the subc, as altho the subc did feel a little small at first the DSSD came to feel too big.
Regarding your father I suppose it might feel strange to you now, but as mine has passed I'd give anything to have your dilemma today. |

Sub after DeepSea: Opinions Wanted
I have a small to medium sized wrist, I bought a DSSD a few months back and it hurt my wrist after a few days. Couldn't get it comfy on my wrist. Switched over to a SubC and its amazing!! Night and day!! Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that Deep Sea and its size, just to big for me.

Tried on both the DS and the SubC Date at my AD. The DS was way too heavy for me and did not sit well on my wrist, no matter how much adjusted. The SubC Date was the perfect size and weight. I bought the Sub.

The sub is one of the most awesome watches you can strap on your wrist. I can't speak specifically to your first question since I don't have a Deepsea, but I can't imagine not wanting to put a sub on...for any circumstance.
Second question: wouldn't bother me. Actually would be kind of cool. |

Dumped the dssd and just added the WG blue. Have an old sub as well, but the smurf is perfect between weight and size, IMO

I have both and like both... the case thickness of the DSSD is both attractive and a concern though... I find myself going thinner (SD4K or Sub) most of the time...

I just traded my Sub C for a DSSD and I couldn't be happier. Don't get me wrong I love the Submariner, and appreciate its iconic history, however it just seemed like it needed a little extra in the area of size and weight. For me the DSSD fills that void. It all comes down to what is comfortable for you. For me when it comes to a Rolex there is no such thing as good or bad. Find one that works for you and enjoy it.

Simple solution--get a WG sub then the weight is about the same as your DSSD. I had the LVc and TT blue SubC but they didn't last for me. The WG sub is a keeper Even though my signature doesn't show it, I still have my G-series DSSD that I've had since new. Still makes me smile and that's the important thing...
