10% down...

So since my decision in December to start saving, I've managed to squirrel away right at 10% of the cost of a used 116710. I have a hobby car that I'm hopefully selling soon and can squirrel away another 20% from that.

So even at the glacial pace I'm putting little bits aside, I can definitely hit my goal of getting a Rolex for my 20 year time-in-service anniversary 5 1/2 years from now. Pretty sure I'm going to hit it before then, but even if not, 5 years is up in a blink

Thanks for all the hints and support in my old post about saving.

Keep at it James, cash will add up quickly. Any way for a second part time job, the incentive is there!

Good for you. The watch will be very special with all the hard work and self-discipline it's going to cost.

Perseverance always pays off. I was in my mid forties before being able to get my first.

My watches and a few more expensive things as well all came from Casual work.
It means you don't have to worry about using "family money".
Working on my next one the same way.
Good Luck with your quest.
