Worth it ?.
My local watch shop has a Sub/date 2003 in the window.
He wants £4000 for it. Looks clean and nice. All boxes and paper work with it, plus 2 service receipts, one owner. Is this a fare price, as i am newish to Rolex. Is it worth making him an offer?. Own a DJ2, am saving for a new Sub or GMT, is it worth going down the pre owned route?. Thoughts...and many thanks.. |

Do an online search..... FS: Rolex 16610 2003
That'll give you a catalog of real life transactions showing what that model sold for on the free online market. After that, it's always depending on CONDITION.

For a Sub 16610 that age, in good condition with box and papers, I'd be looking for closer to 3.3k, but that's in Hong Kong or USA. London tends to be more expensive.

If you're already saving for a new Sub, why buy the pre owned one? Wear and enjoy your DJII for now and when the time is right get the new Sub or GMT.

It think you'll be looking at £3500 to £4000 in a store.
Offer him £3500 I don't think he'll go for it but he may well meet you somewhere in between if you really want it. If he won't budge, have a look online. Subs are everywhere. |

Thanks for the input.
Must admit, i do like a "virgin" watch to be honest. At present saving hard for a new Sub or GMT BLNR probably have the funds by the new year. Just got a little excited,as i want one now, but think i will wait. Many thanks... |

Matt.
Yes, it was in "Hornchurch Jewellers" opp Sainsbury. Had a look this morning, he wanted £4200 for it but said he would take £4k. But like i said i fancy a new watch, as i have 2 sons, to which i would like to give a watch each (only owned by me) whan i am gone. |
