A Sub is a good choice for your first Rolex, with or without a date. Should you end up with several Rolex watches you might as well start with one that you'd probably acquire at some point anyway.

The 16610 was my first. Not really that I chose it as my first Rolex so much as it was the watch I wanted. I wasn't really wanting a Rolex; I wanted a Rolex Submariner. Of course, after that I was hooked and then the question did indeed become which Rolex I should buy next?

^^^I would have went for the sub, personally, as it has a more rugged/masculine look.

But that's just me!

Enjoy your new watch! And don't freak out when you start noticing scratches all over the PCL (polished center links) on the bracelet as they are scratch magnents. Seriously, you look at it the wrong way and a scratch will come up, that;s normal!
