I have only worn my new GMT a few times and have noticed heavy scrapes where the inside bracelet comes in contact with latch.
Anyone else notice this??

What a relief! Was taking a macro pic of clasp and noticed protective plastic not removed!

So far no noticible marks on mine, but worn only a eek and placed in the safe. Missed my Submariner too much! Just wear it and enjoy it!

As stated, it's inevitable. After all, it is two pieces of steel rubbing against eachother.

But even the OVERside of the clasp can leave marks on the bracelet, too:

me too.

sometimes i thought my long sleeve shirt has caused the hairline on the chrome link.

even the link has never touch on any hard surface. the hairline still grew all over it.

My clasp DO NOT scratch the bracelet on my GMT II C. It is somehow higher than the links of the bracelet so the links on the bracelet won't contact the clasp especially on the edge where usually I have heavy scratches on other Rollies. So I do not have those scratches at all. Hope this helps!

Very normal as high polished is a scratch magnet

Make sure that you firmly close the main part of the clasp, when you put the watch on your wrist, before closing the little hinged part with the rolex crown on it. I did not do this right the first couple of times, and the crown gouged the gold on the main clasp.

Long time lurker but finally was able to afford my dream watch -- My first Rolex, a GMT IIc. Just got it yesterday and I can't stop looking at it. With all the talk of scratching of the bracelet. I removed all the plastic except for the one on the clasp as I think it is the most susceptible to scratching. It will eventually fall off but I'm trying to prolong the inevitable as much as I can.

Had mine for almost 4 months now. Scratches happen. Even to the most safe of us.

Enjoy it. RSC will buff to new in about 5 years (imagine how scratched it will be then!)
