COSC or non COSC ?

3 000 euros for a 2005 non COSC
3 450 euros for a 2007 COSC

Which do you like more, that's what it comes down to. They are the same watch other than a couple of years and a little extra writing on the dial and flange. I have owned both an currently have COSC model but I loved my last non-COSC model. I doesn't really matter to me, they are both perfect examples of a classic watch, either way, they don't get any better.

If you want to keep it for a long while and not interested in selling it on soon the CSOC might be the best bet as they are produced for a shorter while and likely to be gone for the next year. If you keep all the booklets and other stuff nice and clean you might have a nice collectors item in 20 years or so. All just speculation and if you like the older one better go for the one you like. I have seen quite a lot of new CSOC's for 3250 and even 3100 euro's over here in Holland at grey dealers but don't know witch country code they have but you might be able to bring the price down just a bit.

It's a matter of personal taste and preference, but I would go for the non COSC version since I like the uncluttered, clean look of the dial due to the lacking COSC writing.

Both watches have the SAME movt. Cal. 3130.

Imho, COSC rating is just marketing hype.

This article called "Inside COSC" sheds some light on the matter.

There is an interesting note in the article. I qoute:

If the 14060M is discontinued or changed down the line the COSC MAY be something in the future.

I know the COSC doesn't change anything to the watch's accuracy.

My question was more = do people prefer the rolexrolexrolex ring and the 2 added line or the plainer look of the non COSC ?

Which one is more popular ?

Which one is more difficult to find second hand ? Which one holds its value better TODAY ?

Rolx is not dumb. I bet that if they added rolexrolex it means tha they know people will buy more than without. Correct?

So if it is the case, the non COSC's price should drop on the second hand market the day the COSC was launched?

I don't think it is that simple..

It's impossible to say which is more "popular". The 14060 has been out for many years and there are millions of them in use. The latest with the COSC dial has no waiting lists nor is it "flying" off the shelves any more than it did in the past.

Second Hand difficulty? Well, the COSC of course...it's only been out for a few months and very few of them would even be in the used market... There is absolutely no difference, at this point in time, as to which one "holds it's value" TODAY.

No....They added "rolexrolex" because it's going into all the line-up...it is their most recent counterfeiting measure.

And lastly, that has not been the history of Rolex watches. Once discontinued, the value may drop normally for a while, but then it sees a higher, sooner, increase in value because it is no longer readily available.

Don't care that much one way of the other but I like the serial number there. Have we seen any pics of fakes with the CRB yet? I can't recall an example of one I've seen.
