Diver, Black Themes or BLNR?
Thinking about adding one of these three as a true daily wearer to compliment a PP and 44 FC that I have. For the Black Themes and Diver the pricing is fairly close on the pre-owned market, both look good on a bracelet (already have one from previous 42mm AP pieces that I have since moved).
The BLNR is completely different both in price and style, but is a contender as I tried one on at my AD recently and actually liked it. This one I would purchase new. And although I realize that this is the AP sub-forum, I value the thoughts of the members here. You have all cost my bank account dearly, but that's a different story Any thoughts on one over the others are appreciated? TIA ! |

Then my vote goes to the diver.
Maybe a white dial one for diversity...

The PP is a 5980R-001 on strap. I've had a few Rolex in the past (YMII two tone, Deep Sea D-Blue both were moved to make room for other pieces) and I did recently let go of a Sub which really grew on me and is a great daily, but in the end (dare I say) was a little common.

SS diver on bracelet looks and feels better than than the BLNR in my very humble opinion. On the other hand, having a SS Rolex is always nice. Good luck!

Themes is a bit sportier than the Diver IMO, as it's a chrono and lacks the baton markers which to me give a somewhat dressier appearance; to me the Diver is the perfect sport/luxury hybrid (as opposed to the RO which to me is the perfect luxury/sport hybrid ).
Having said that the BLNR is a also a good candidate, but lacks the fine finishing and depth that either of the ROO choices you list, while otoh it does fit under a cuff much better than either of the ROOs and is also a great sport/luxury hybrid. For me, I can tell you that the GMTIIc, which was my go-to watch up until I got the Diver, has been very lonely ever since.

I have owned a black themes on bracelet and I bought a BLNR on Friday.
Both are great but both are different. If I had to choose between the two it would be difficult. Probably the AP (not a fan of the diver) |

Me too, had the BLNR, nice watch but diver is much cooler IMO, if you really want a Rolex to use for sports and other things then why not, but I would really go for a diver, in any case both cool watches and nice to have in the collection, I would have kept one of my Rolex but the lack of comfort just popped in my face once I got the 5712, thankfully the AP ceramic diver is very comfy, hard to imagine such a big watch would be, was expecting a not very comfortable watch and am happily surprised, this one and the 5712 are sure to stay

Diver.
It has QUICKLY become my favorite since I picked it up a few months ago. Nothing really seems to compare to it. Best of both worlds -- luxury/sport. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Hmm have you considered going 116619 or 116719 to get the daily and the exclusiivity you crave...or are you looking for ss? Tried the 5167? 5164?

I have thought about the 5167 and while it would stretch the budget even further, I have concerns about its size. I'm a heavy guy and have a 7.5" wrist and am afraid it would simply be to small. I find the 40mm Rolex models a touch small, but in PM the weight compensates and I fee like the pieces are more 'substantial'. I realize they are the same size as the non PM models but its just a mental thing for me. |

I have a 7 3/4" wrist and have no problems with the 5167, or my 15300. I think it's what you get used to. My PAM233 OTOH nows feels too big...
