116613 Blue dial -"is it just too overboard"
This is a beautiful watch, i love love to look at it, stunner.
Thinking about getting it, but am cautious as I feel its just too flashy and overboard? What do current/previous owners have to say? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I love mine and all who have it do for the same reason, we love it.
If too flashy and overboard for you, follow your personal preference and get one that is not. |

I don't like TT, yellow gold or flashy watches but 116613 is just a beauty. I get more compliments and more of my freinds like it better then any watch I've every owned. Make sure to get the sunburst dial as it changes colors with the light and never gets old.

Overboard? No.
Flashy? Yes. Proceed with caution if you don't like flashy or attention

If you like get it. I had one for about 5 years.
I no longer wear any type of yellow gold....but I still think about my old blue sub. Out of all my watches owned, (15 or so) I probably got the most compliments on that one....about 4 times in 5 years....so not that flashy Go for it, beautiful watch |

I save mine for special occasions as I feel it's a bit to "look at my watch" Stunning yes but I now wear a ceramic LV as my daily wearer.

All gold or whatever one may think it's " flashy" is in the mind of the wearer.... I don't think people care whether you have gold or any other precious metal watch.. Sure they'll admire it from a far but it's not like people will come up to you and gawk at it and ask you if they can try it on?? Whatever attention you may think you'll attract is a figment of your own imagination....and perhaps secretly, you want the attention anyway..
So the point is just wear what you like , be sensible of your surroundings , and don't worry so much about being flashy ... Because most don't care.... |

I avoided the TT submariner for a time because I liked my SS submariner and "thought" I disliked the yellow gold. However, a nice one became available at an unbeatable price from a trustworthy source and I bought it partly because of the price and partly because I was looking for a blue dial Rolex. Now that I have it, I've gotten used to the yellow gold and I really, really, like the blue sunburst dial. I wear my SS black submariner and TT blue submariner more or less equally.

IMO yes.
In fact I was trying it earlier today, probably for the 5th time. Its hands down one of the most beautiful watches Rolex makes I think. has beautiful presence, has a beautiful blue dial, and just perfect. Problem is that it is a little too flashy for me. PCLs on SS or the WG Sub are the flashiest I can go personally. (not saying either is very flashy, but that is my limit). Usually casually dressed in shorts and a Polo, sometimes but less often in business casual, and I don't like gold in such casual attire. If you don't mind the extra gold, or if it fits your life style with the way you dress, you will definitely get a ton of compliments on that watch. Hope i've helped. |

The average person you come in contact with doesn't notice your watch. Get what you want.

I've had mine for nearly two months and though about for a LONG time before getting it.
It's very shiny and flashy and 'three dimensional'in the sunlight. It's utterly beautiful and you won't stop looking at it. I recommend it to you. |

The blue dial on both the TT & 18k, IMO, is the best looking watch ever made!

In my case, since I already have a 16613 with the sunburst dial, when the opportunity came along a few years ago to purchase a SS/18k blue Sub C, I chose the flat blue model. IMO, the flat-blue dial is every bit as elegant and exquisite as the sunburst dial. I sold the TT smurf earlier this year (in a moment of weakness) to fund other stuff, but I really miss it and I'm on the hunt for a replacement, lol. The flat blue dial changes color in different lighting conditions, and as a result it's every bit as magical as the sunburst model. It always tends to photograph lighter than it really is. In person, the dial is a deep, rich, royal blue.
Regards, -rick. |

I have a 16613 and it seems like the blue dial of the newer 11613 isnt as bright? Is it just the pictures? The new watch is bigger though.

It's an absolutely gorgeous watch. And yes, I think it is flashy. Wearing one makes checking the time special. Best thing to do is to try it on. You'll either love it or recoil in horror. TT is very polarizing here.

It will get noticed, but will be loved! It's a great looking watch. Go for it. Stunning in person (and in photos and everywhere else)
