Unusual 5514 Comex case back
Hi guys,
I just wanted to ask you guys if this case back has been released by Rolex for Comex or it is an aftermarket/ fake one. [IMG]http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/360x360q90/14/11/16/8352c0f4e3abee6d8e1dd5bfa5ff3646.jpgI have never saw a 5514 Comex using this type of case back. I know that the early and first 5514 batch used this one (little numbers) Then the second batch (middle numbers) And the most by appreciated by most of 5514 Comex enthusiast, the latest 5514 batch with big numbers: Maybe our friend Marcelo will clear this up. Thanks folks ! |

your photo isn't loading.
and whilst we wait for it....the top one you show for comparison is actually a medium number ( its one of mine) there are a couple variations of the medium number style.....the small number first style really is small...like dinky little numbers. and personally i would say the most appreciated 5514 style is the batch 700-750 issue ...which has the benefit of the serial number inside the back which removes the mismatched back worries and has almost all nice shape dials, as opposed to many of the following 200 which have the slightly friday afternoon special lume application ( after couple beers friday lunchtime.) ...but just my2c. http://www.thetimetraveler.co/watche...-from-service/ |

yes !
this " combo " is a sort of mix between those you have in early Comex 5513/4 and 1665 . fonts and features of this engraving are obviously pretty different from genuine ones. |

yes it's a configuration you have in the last batch of 5513.
the pictures you have shared are related to 5513 with Comex number 23X ( I have the complete set of pics and full case number in my records ). this watch was proposed two times in an UK auction ( 2013 and 2014 ) and then on E-BAY some months ago. all over the world there are some " mad " guys ( including your humble servant .. LOL ) who keep under surveillance Comex and Milsubs that appear on the market. |

Interesting so it is a very rare configuration. If I understand well it is the very last batch of 5513/4 without custom logo on dial right ? |

There are genuine 16600 and 1665 Comex out there (see my signature, tee-hee) but few examples are ever for sale, especially of the 1665. Haywood Milton, UK
