This thread was NOT for discussing that type of statement. So please don't go there again..
Yea, I wasn't trying to make it political. Guess I'm on the wrong coast as I'm not hearing much here. You made a comment I asked if you minded clarifying, that's all. Thanks for the clarification as it's always good to know what's going on in the world around us wether it be good or bad.

So on a different note...nice watches, enjoy in good health and be safe out there!

Can I ask what you mean by it being open season on police? All I see in the media lately are how many unarmed citizens have been killed by law enforcement this year in the USA. It seems the trust gap between citizens and the police is getting larger :(

Just curious if I've missed something. I'm the last person to believe all the media hype and have many friends and associates in law enforcement.

"Open season on Police" means we can't do our jobs anymore without harsch scrutiny from Liberals, who have no idea how real police work actually occurs. Also, Cops around the country are being killed, it seems on a daily basis. Unfortunately, these deaths don't make the cover of the major newspapers, nor do they headline the news programs. Proactive policing is almost impossible to perform these days, at least in big cities. There is far too much bureaucracy.

Check the right column titled violence against police.

Not in law enforcement, but many years in uniform in carrier based ASW and S&R, I never dreamed I'd wear such a nice watch. God shed His grace on thee.
And a son who's in harm's way every minute of every day because of decisions made by people who have never worn one. Sorry, not political, just a father.

Thanks Cop414(Tim). I'd go back and delete my posts if they were not quoted as I really was just simply curious. I just caught up with a good friend over a few drinks a few weeks ago who's with local PD here and he didn't really have too much to say.

I've been googling like mad since I saw the comment and I'm quite disheartened by the stories I'm finding. My respect for what you guys have to deal with on a daily basis just increased some more. I have many friends who went the law enforcement or FD route 18-20 years ago now. Without you guys all doing what you do many of our lives would not be possible. Same goes for the military of course.

You folks deserve all the Rolex's you own, 10 fold. :)

I have nothing but the utmost respect for all the men and women who put their lives on the line on a daily and nightly basis so the rest of us can be safe.

Law enforcement is a thankless job. Be safe out there.

Thanks for all of your service to our country, not to many civilians know what it's like to wake up every morning and put on a bullet proof vest to go to work. Then to defend a every growing ungrateful country! I'm a federal law enforcement officer with the USCG. I really respect what you all do for all of us. Stay safe!

As a former police officer, I want to offer much respect and gratitude to all who currently serve. It is a thankless job that, frankly, is hard to comprehend by anyone who hasn't been there.

BTW, if you see a white 911 Carrera S going a little too fast, please look the other way.

All of you who have the utmost gratitude from me... I try (if they let me) to buy lunches anywhere I go where I see a LEO.... I know it is a only a token of appreciation, but with all the craziness out there this year, I hope it will at least let them know many more people appreciate the force than not.

I just wanted to thank all of you guys for your kind words of support and appreciation, it never goes unnoticed, and it's always appreciated! In this profession, a simple "thank you" tends to brighten a rough day.

Retired LEO here. I wore my Rolexes to work (plain clothes) toward the end of my career but put them in a safe place before arrests and the like.
Be safe my brothers.

17 years a police officer in Canada, in a city of 1.2 million, so seen it all. Watched people die at my feet. Thanks to all for the kind words and support....it's a fantastic job but what we have to see, hear, smell and do sometimes makes it difficult to transition from work to home. It can just be a damned rough time. Anyway! Here's my fav. I have an office now as the Executive Officer to a Deputy Chief, so my biggest threat is a vicious paper cut or stapler accident!
