Rolex Datejust 16013 - Real or Fake?

Guys,

Would you have a quick look at this Rolex Datejust on eBay for me:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181854207616?redirect=mobile

I'm quite interested in the watch especially as it appears to have the original certificate. However, what concerns me is the bracelet with reference 62510 - AB5 - Surely this is fake?

Is the watch genuine? Your help & advice is appreciated.
Stuart

I like it.

It could have a 1992 Casio G-shock digital movement in it, for all we know, but externally it looks good to me.

AB5 is a year May2000 clasp code, could be a later replacement. I can't tell from pics if its real/fake.

Surely the clasp reference should be 62523 on a bi-metal jubilee?

Can't you just replace the clasp though?

I'm not saying it's not a franken, I just can't say if it's fake.

Me too. The actual size of the number, and it's font look a bit off to me.

Even though it is not the correct one, it does look genuine to me?

Those old Jubilees get really stretchy, so totally believable that someone would replace it, or parts of it.

Anyone not bothered by the way the five minute markers resemble the new DJII and not characteristic of the one from that era?

Early 16013 models had 62510 H clasps on a two tone bracelet. I have seen this.... however, the font does not look right on that clasp. I do spy an "S" for service clasp, I guess, but something is rubbing me wrong about the font... dial looks find, case looks fine, and papers look fine...

Unsure where you read or heard that a 62510 h bracelet is correct it's not and never has been. Those watches you see are Frankensteins usually a aftermarket band and someone bought any clasp and put it on to have the Rolex symbol. Always 62523 h14 or 18 on a two tone 1601 or 16013 and only 63523 h18 on a 16233.

That may be true... I just know I have seen a few 5 million serial 16013s that had A serial band clasp codes but 62510 H. Probably a frankenband made up of genuine parts...
