Rolex repairs

Hi i have just joined this forum , however i have owned my Sea Dweller 16600 since 1993 , i have had it serviced three times and i would like to point out couple of points having read threads concerning servicing and costs , i have been told to bear in mind that if you send your Rolex to a non recognized repairer Rolex will not touch it again , if you send it to Rolex and they discover any parts fitted that not genuine they will not touch it has anyone come across this ?

I've not heard Rolex refusing to service a watch previously serviced elsewhere. Now, the utilization of non-Rolex parts might be an issue. For example, if they discovered a non-Rolex movement in the case, it might be treated as a forgery. For most other things, Rolex would simply insist on replacing the part--or they would likely refuse to work on the watch. For example, if you had an aftermarket dial or hands, I think Rolex would insist you allow them to replace those parts. If you did not authorize Rolex to replace the parts, they would probably refuse to service the watch.

I've only heard of Rolex insisting that they return the watch to you with only Rolex parts and only Rolex parts appropriately in-period for your watch and only iterations of hands, bracelets and the like available for your particular model at he time of manufacture.

Rolex will service any authentic Rolex. If you have aftermarket parts on your Rolex such as bezels or dials they may refuse service if you do not agree to have those parts replaced with authentic Rolex parts.

As to the movement, most expendables are changed during the service so it usually is not an issue.
