Icon10 TGIWWMR moment

I'd like to call it the "thank god I wasn't wearing my Rolex" moment.

I went on a road trip for three days and rented a lady's house for two nights. I was contemplating on bringing my two month old datejust II along with me on this trip but my girlfriend and best friend who also came along told me to just leave it at home and save myself the stress and worry. I agreed.

Fast forward to the last day of the trip, I walk down the stairs in the morning and me being a clumsy, groggy person in the morning, I misstep and slide all the way down the stairs, get bruised all over my body and dislocate my shoulder, (but i popped it back in almost immediately). Im still sore all over and my shoulder is feeling all weird, but thankful that i didn't break a bone, or bled all over a strangers house. Luckily, my girlfriend is also a Registered Nurse.

Coming back home and thinking back, I'm also really glad I wasnt wearing my rolex either.

Anyone else have a TGIWWMR moment that they'd like to share?

Thank God no Rolexes were harmed in this story.

Oh and glad you're more or less ok too.

Well yes it's good you didn't bang your watch around but WTF about you? Sleepy or not, failing down the stairs ain't normal man, if it was an accident ok, but if you got dizzy and lost your balance something else might be going on, you should get checked out anyway because of the fall so make a doctors appointment ASAP and get everything looked at including the reason you got dizzy in the first place!!!

Dang, man. Glad you're ok! Only time I have is a oh, how I wish I wasn't wearing my Rolex. I have a male Great Pyrenees who is really large for breed standards. He has a rope toy that we play with some days, especially when it's really hot outside and he doesn't want to go out. We were playing tug of war with the rope, he is very strong so I was pulling really hard with my left hand, when the rope slipped out of his mouth and my left wrist slammed into my bedroom door. Hard, really really hard. No part of my wrist even touched the door, the watch took the entire hit. Of course I panicked and had to do a detailed inspection. Luckily, not a scratch and no issues with keeping time. I take it off everytime my dog and I play tug of war now.

Sticks and stones may break your bones but always protect your Rolex.

I would react something like....damn !!....missed opportunity to test a Rolex :-X

I once was working in my workshop and quite a bit of steel came loose and hit the Rolex....not a scratch to be seen....my wife went beserk since it was our wedding gift and from that moment onwards
she kept checking my wrist (pun intended) every time I went into the workshop.

Glad you and your Rolex are okay.

Same here with my dog, too! My maltese is a small one but her claws can get long. She tends to get a little scratch happy when she gets excited.

But I'm really glad that there's no way my dog can overpower me. Lol

Good thing you're not seriously hurt.

The Chinese believe that jade bangles protect its wearer from harm - in an accident it would break but not its wearer. Perhaps your Rolex could be the equivalent.

Don't let the things you own end up owning you.

I understand about the fall, but I"m still trying to figure out what type of stress comes from wearing a Rolex?
