If you expect any real help, you need to provide much more details than you have about the situation/location, etc of how it went missing.

Missing in transit?
Who shipped it? Surely it was insured and trackable?

Hi all, thanks for your response.

The seller shipped via USPS express international priority from USA to Singapore. The tracking showed that it arrived in Singapore nearly 2 months ago but when I contacted the USPS agent in Singapore, ie SingPost they do not have any record and therefore could not assist me regarding this package.

I had discussed many times with the sellers and so far he had tried to contact USPS in the state and no success so far. I suspect it was missing during the transit. 2 months already passed since the ship out date and I quite doubt that I can retrieve back the watch.

I am reaching out to the TRF forum member here to seek your help. If you come across this watch please kindly contact me. Your help will be very much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

Best regards
Mike

I don't know who that member was, so I'm impartial here, but I would consider it the responsibility of the seller to get the watch to the buyer's front door, and signed for.

But I used the fedex which I am comfortable with. I face this problem only this time since it was shipped via USPS.

The seller is being helpful by the way.

I would have to think that the sender has an obligation to insure and track, provided you paid for this.
If there were two shipping options, one covered and one not, then I do hope you selected the former?

I love the blue dial OQ

Have been looking for one until I found this piece. It's sad to learn that it went missing during the transit.

X 2

No mention on what the sellers stance is on this and why it was not insured for the full value.

There is a few things your seller can do. Contact the postal Police and file a claim. They can see if it made it out of the country. If it did leave the USPS and went to the hands of the Singapore postal service then it is no longer the responsibility of the USPS. You are stuck as a buyer because you can't file a claim the shipper does. Why did the seller not insure it for the full value? The USPS it's really reasonable for insurance. You need to pressure the seller to continue and at least get your money back at the amount it was insured at and have the seller pay the extra amount he failed to insure it at. There are a few other things you can do like have the serial number reported as stolen, here in the US we have a system called NCIC which is a federal data base. There is a few other systems at least here in NY that does pawn shops. Also have your seller report to Rolex and they can put it in their system so if it ever goes for service it will flag. I know it isn't the answer you are looking for and if I see it in any of the Pawn shops I will confiscate it and contact your seller or you. PM me your contact information. Seeing a Oyster quartz is rare. Here in the US the average person believes that a Rolex that ticks is fake. They have no idea of the history of Rolex and the oyster quartz line. Good luck.

Anytime. I ran the serial number. No hit. Which means it's not reported stolen. File a report or have the guy who sold it to you in he US do it. That way it can be in the system.

so what is the seller doing? issuing a refund? when you purchase something online, it's the sellers responsibility to get it to your door. if the post office loses it, that's the sellers risk. I lost a set of XLR-V headlights I sold this way, they dissapeared and weren't insured, never made it to the guys door according to tracking. had to refund his $640 and I was out the lights, shipping costs, and the sale cost. the kicker was when ebay charged me the 10% sellers fee after I refunded everything.

The seller will file a claim from insurance but not the full amount. He is helping to reach out to all the watch dealer and other sellers that he knows.

The only mistake I have done is not to insist the seller to ship it by Fedex. I have shipped few watches from oversea with fedex and always without problem.
