Question 15400
Hello new to the forum. I just purchased a 15400 from AD and I'm wondering when the date changes and how long it takes to completely change to the next day? Also any opinions regarding reliability of AP compared to Rolex Thank you.

Last October I purchased one of the first H series off of the line at a well known NYC AD and ran 40 sec a day fast after a month due to an over banking issue with the mainspring that was found in the 2012-2013 Cal. 3120 models....
The service center in FL fixed it. Gave it a third year of warranty and now it runs 3-4 secs a day fast which is within Chronometer specs. Date changes a few minutes after midnight. As far as reliability, aside from a known many defect which was attended to with some of the best customer service I have seen anywhere, it has been flawless. It's an iconic watch and a sheer joy to wear. Enjoy it. |

In my experience with two APs (15400 and ceramic diver) the date changed witching 5 mins of midnight and happened quickly, but not quite like the spring loaded snap of a Rolex. No big deal but I do prefer the way it rifles over on a Rolex.

That sounds a little strange... One of the key features of the 3120 movement is the spring-loaded date change, which should make it instantaneous. I've seen mine change dates (right at midnight +/- 15 seconds) and if you blink you would miss the change.

My 2-month old 15400 which I bought brand new changes at around 12:04AM.

I've never owned a Rolex 3135 Cal that changed dates right at Midnight either. All have been within 3-5 after midnight.
