Two very different watches, both desirable.
Get one and save for the other?

I love both. 233 reminds me of my 328. Only thing is right now it appears Rolex holds value much more as well as higher in demand than panerai.

Better tell people that's a Pam on this forum to even give it a hope of a chance to compete with the BLNR.

I like them both, the 233 wears great for me as a daily, the movement allows it to sit low on the wrist and slide easily under you shirt sleeves and suit cuff. If you go with the 233 as the daily wearer , you also don't have to worry about a bracelet to scuff up, during those required desk diving missions.

The 1950's case dome crystal is awesome!
I had a 275 with GMT function same as 233.

Considerations:
- Bracelet vs multiple strap options
- As a travel watch, BLNR more functional
- To keep track of time in multiple timezones, GMT more functional
- 233 movement better finished and you can see it
- PCLs vs smooth bezel that easily shows wear marks
- 8 day reserve really useful
- 233 lume much better

I like the BLRN much better, but I am not a big Pam fan.
To be fair there are benefits of the 233 over the BLRN as pointed out by eonflux, but there are many competing watches that would have advantages over the Rolex is some area or another. For me, the Rolex is a very good functioning GMT, probably more durable, and definitely a nicer looking watch that can cover a better range of dressing up and down than the 233. Just my input, but IMO , the BLRN wins hands down (all four of them...lol)

both great, but, if you *have* to choose, the 233 is more special and unique, IMHO. good luck with the choice (though they are plenty different enough to own both).

Good picture of the BLNR with the background of Notre Dame (with no hunchback).

Both are great, albeit different; but there has never been a more affordable time to purchase a 233.

Well,....I can't argue with any of the points made. It is a tough call. I favor the Rolex based on the movement, but that's just me.

I tried the blnr twice. It's a beautiful watch. I just could not do it. Don't know why.

But I'd take it every day over the PAM.

And I think the PAM concept overall is great. But the implantation does not work for me.

For some reason I really like my PAMs to be as clean as possible. I know the 233 is revered - but give me a simple dial like a 111, 105, 372 or 390.

GMT function on the BLNR is so convenient. Just tried it out for the past two weeks. The super quick hour changing is a pleasure to use.
