New and first purchase

Hi firstly my apologies if you have read this request on the Paneristi forum. I have today bought my first Panerai a 213. I am delighted with the watch but have a slight concern. It was bought from a large chain AD in the UK and has the year prefix of I. It appears that several other dealers who also have this watch in stock have year prefix J models. The J models come with a calf strap but mine has what I think is a more expensive alligator strap. Question, should I be concerned that the year prefix is I. This means probably that the AD has had it in stock for some time. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Mal,

You should have no concerns. The 213 is a fantastic watch and the serial difference is neither here nor there IMO.

Snap and upload please!!

if your I model has the roller on the crown gaurd lever like the J series do than I wouldn't mind. I think that was a nice upgrade panerai added on the J series and on a select few I models.. but the new strap change push button system IMHO stinks and will only cause future problems..

New quick strap system works very well.
