Twenty years from now your kid will be offering it as a "crooked crown old Greenwich" or something of the sort and getting 3x the going rate of a normal one for it.

Wear the watch and enjoy it. You are looking at the watch, not the chapter ring. |

My LVC is perfectly aligned. I would say it doesn't bother me, but realistically after a couple weeks I wouldn't be ok with it. Good luck!

I don't think I could ever notice that, nor would I care for such a small amount. Wear it and be happy.

Deciding which watch to wear to lunch and calling it a "dilemma", that's a first world problem.
Paying top dollar for a product that is not put together properly, faulty or defective in someway is not a first world problem, it's just a problem. To be clear, I don't know if the engraved crown is supposed to be perfectly aligned, but that's the point of the inquiry I suppose. Also to be clear, this is of course a luxurious hobby that is globally exclusive to a tiny percentage of the population. I understand all that. But whether you're buying a Rolex, a text book for college, a jacket for your kid or seeds to grow food for your family, you will always expect to get what you pay for. If it's broken or not as described, it's just a problem. |

Am I correct that this engraving is a permanent part of the case? Or is the rehaut a ring attached to the case? Wondering how fixable this is.

The crown on my GMTII and DJ are both perfectly aligned with the 12:00 marker. FWIW and just for fun.....notice that along the rehaut the X in ROLEX is aligned with the hour markers on the 12-6 side while the R in ROLEX is aligned with the markers on the 6-12 side.

If it's under warranty and I presume that it is, you should discuss it with a Rolex-certified watchmaker and see what the watchmaker says.
Here's a quick and dirty phone shot of mine.

Seems like I read that somewhere. However, would not want to alarm anyone if their alignment is slightly off. That could simply be a QC issue.

It should line up.
Wow, $9,000 for a stainless steel watch and with this level of QC? Sadly, a joke these days. |
