GMT II BLNR Pricing

A buddy of mine is looking at a BLNR, but not sure what the pricing should be. I have a contact that I buy from and he wants 9K cash, no sales tax, even though it lists at 8950.

What is this watch currently selling at in the US after negotiations (if any)? (New in box with tags and stickers)

I thought I saw some threads indicating that most people were paying 8,200, but i can't seem to find that thread.

Any help would be appreciated.

The NIB ones i have seen around that $8200 price have been in Canada. I too would like one. But most I have seen in the US that are nib are around high $8,000's, pretty much close to msrp w/o tax. I guess it's such a hot model with strong demand, so deals aren't too prevelent.

From an AD, little to no discount. From a trusted seller on here, well just take a look.

I thought it was pretty normal to get ~10% off at an AD? Sure, that 9k number is more around 8%, but doesn't seem too outrageous to me.

If you get any form of discount on the BLNR at an AD, you're doing well. They're going for above retail here in Singapore because of the short supply and high demand.

From a US AD, not much wiggle room. Unless you have a well established relationship, expect little to no discount.

On that model here in Florida you will not get a discount. Even with the trusted seller's and the grey dealers everywhere I can see the best deal you get on a used one is in the mid $8000's range. If I had to pay $8250 (best price I could find) for a used one I rather just pay $8950 for new at an AD and get a 10 year warranty and all the hoopla that comes with buying one from them. YMMV

Thats what the sellers here are doing :)

Retail is around 7600EUR give or take, including VAT. Get the vat off, and you end up at around 6100eur without any.discount. thats around 6800usd. Full retail from AD.

You paid 30% less than I did. Now I am not very bright, having attended public schools, so I cannot understand how from a business standpoint and that could happen. I'm not really sure why Rolex allows that to happen. But since they do why wouldn't grey dealers, or any entrepreneur or businessman for that matter attempt to buy every Rolex that exists in Europe and then resell them in the United States? Why didn't you resell your watch to somebody in the United States? You could've easily made 20% and not left your desk at your home.

Congrats by the way. However it does certainly make me feel like I don't want to buy another watch here and I was planning to do just that today.

Thats exactly why some sellers here have grown from armchair flippers to multi-million dollar businesses in a matter of few years.

At the current fx rate, you can buy watches from EU, sell them to the trf sellers and make profit.

[email protected] or you can shoot him a PM here. Since you're in SoCal also take a look at OCRolexguy and justrolexes. You may do a F2F with them. All three guys are top notch, real deal, legit stand up sellers.

You will probably get a better deal here than at an AD and not have to pay the sales tax to the seller either.

With exchange rate, £5950 is $8808 and £5600 is $8290.

These prices aren't too far apart. I come to FL every year but never buy a Rolex as prices are too similar to at home (UK) and I'd still have to pay VAT officially on top of already similar prices.

As far as i know Rolex US got a deal with US customs to confiscate imported Rolexes at the border..not sure how it works - do they check each insured package with the watch inside or sth :) I read a thread on WUS about that. Might be not true though.

The AD's here will match Rolexs 5 year warranty with additional 5 years for a total of 10.

A "few hundred" under msrp and no sales tax is probably a better deal than Joe Blow off the street would get from an AD.

There is no "deal".

Rolex has a trademark that protects their rights regarding importation of their product.

US Customs is only enforcing that trademark as part of their law enforcement duties for the US Government. This trademark enforcement applies to other brands and products imported into the US. Importers must declare all items crossing US borders.
