SD 1665 Service dial
I wondered if anyone might have any thoughts on what sort of % price reduction could be expected for a 1665 SD with a service dial recently serviced by Rolex.

As Hodinkee accurately pointed out today - the dial is almost everything http://www.hodinkee.com/articles/9-b...-vintage-rolex
I had a 1665 with a service dial (a good while back) it is very hard to find a correct dial that with nice patina and match hands. I am no pro, but I would expect a service dial to reduce the price by 20-30% at least. |

Thanks for the reply. I've been looking for one in the UK for a while and they are very hard to come by here. I will carry on searching I think!

SD 1665 Service dial
Which version of SD? Makes all the difference in the world. The replacement cost of a "great white" dial is a mere fraction of the cost of that of a DRSD.

I agree with Patrick, at least 25%ish reduction. I also find that watches with replacement dials sit in the classifieds, particularly when being sold by an individual vs. a known dealer. Best of luck

Most of the time the service dial is less desirable vs the original dial and will be reflected in the price.
But there are early rare service dials which are desirable because of their rarity.
