Registering a pre-owned Rolex

When you buy a second hand Rolex (w/papers and box), do you need to register it with Rolex at an AD so when you send it to an RSC they know it is yours and not the original owners.

Or when you send to an RSC do you show the sales receipt for your pre-owned purchase?

When you fill out the paperwork at Rolex they update their record with you as the owner. I've done it about half a dozen times. No bill of sale needed. The only time they ask for the card was warranty service on a new factory warranteed watch. (I thought I scratched the crystal on my DSSD. Turned out to be paint transfer and they buffed it out no charge.)

Yep, when you send it in for service you become the current "registered" owner, if that's what you call it. The service warranty that comes along with it will be in your name.
