Love my Explorer II...it has it all:
Cyclops lens/Crystal
Classic Rolex look and wrist appeal
Easy to read
Very functional - especially if you travel a lot as it makes it easy to track time in two zones
Rugged - you would have to really abuse one to tear it up

All in all, a great watch and a good value

Best,
Skip

Well, late Zs would be around early to mid 2007 and then we have the Ms which would be late 2007 and 2008.

Probably the only difference would be the movement. I'm starting to think maybe all M's have the 3186?!

I just bought a white dial M Expy II last week. It's an awesome watch and I know I made the right choice of the sport rollies for me. It was the white dial that smiled at me and made me buy the Expy II over a Coke GMT II. Plus my AD was willing to deal alittle more on it.

Anyway I'm wondering what kinda look my AD would give me if I went in and told him to open up my watch. It's been a week and its starting to get under my skin alittle not knowing what movement it is.

I bet it is a 3186.

I'm not quite in the market for one yet, but I saw one in the WoS window on Princes Street yesterday and it looked great. Somehow it does appear smaller than other sports models although it was sitting next to Daytonas and a very nice COSC Sub ND. Price was at just over £3K, so about £300 more than the Sub - I assume both at RRP.

One day...

I used to HATE it, but over the past 2 years I have grown to absolutely LOVE the expyII. I will be buying one once I save up enough money!

White dial of course!

I like both the black and white. White one looks classic, while the black one looks edgy - sporty. Either will make a fine choice.

EXPII...perfect business or pleasure traveller watch. Comfortable, unobtrusive, sleek enough not to cause cuff snags, very readable second time zone, waterproof way below 'normal' depths , a solid stainless case that handles the day to day knocks and it looks great with a suit or tee...

Some people don't like the fixed bezel, but for me it's one of the plus points100% fixed, so there's never a doubt...

I love things that have integrity and this watch has it in spades......

I bought the dark face, because the black and steel contrast just shouted out to me.....

Hi, just want to ask is it true to say that all M series Explorer 2 come with a 3186 movement? I was told that all M series are 3186.Wonder how true is this?

It's unknown whether ALL M-series have the 3186, but I suspect most do, and perhaps some Z-series.

Love the white dial, I think it will be the next watch I buy myself after the DSSD, unless I hit the lotto and then my next watch with be a Plat. DD but I guess I have to buy a ticket for that to happen.

I like the 4th hand

Its a tough choice between it and the GMT II but since I want the white face it will be the Exp II

Please post pics when you get it!

Together with the Sub, the best bang for the buck watch Rolex makes. Appearance, is a subjective matter.

Sounds like an excellent plan to me Jeremy. You will love the company of both the DSSD and the Explorer II when you take both of them home.

Hey Mok Wai. Greetings from another Singaporean. I got my M series White Explorer II last month. Paid $6700 for it. Retail price is $8097. If you are keen to get from my AD, do PM me...

I'm not a Expy type guy, but if I were, it would have to be a black dial.
To me, it just makes the watch stand out.
