I like the DD40 motif dials with sticks any metal. All winners and I would be elated to own such a piece

I was wanting to add one of the diagonal motif dials and since I had a white/roman dial Day-Date II and wanted something different, I chose the black motif with sticks. Here is a comparison shot. Be sure to try several on first. Also the new movement is extremely accurate.

The Day Date is a great watch. I own two Day Date II's and am very pleased with them. So many options in 36, 40 and 41. Go try some on. You will soon know.

Thanks buddy. Can't wait to see which DD 40 you decide upon. Looks like it is going to be another big year for you in 2016. So happy for you my friend.

Love mine. Whatever dial you choose, can't go wrong. They are all winners.

Thanks Eric, hopefully this will be more of a consolidating year, tho Basel will probably challenge that idea.

I'm thinking about a day date in the future. I've tried on all three sizes and I have a 7.5
inch wrist. I have to say for some reason the 36 looks best on me. I was all excited about the 40. I'd really like to get the 40 too because I have a 36mm datejust 116200 which I love, and I have the Sub 114060 at 40mm. So I'm not sure which one, but I am leaning toward the 36 with a diamond dial. Also, I don't know if I want my dress watch to be as large as my Sub. You know.... I also made a point that I like to see a little of than bracelet on the top of my wrist; not all watch. That's just me.

I share your views, I have a 7.25-7.5 in wrist and agree the 36 is the way to go, especially as a dress watch. IMO looks much more elegant than the 40 or 41 and I have tried them all several times. The 40 takes care of some of the proportional problems on the bezel but if you put a 40 or 41 on your wrist and look in a mirror from 5 feet away you cant tell the difference, they both look like a large gold piece. Nothing wrong with that, but if you want an elegant dress watch, 36 is the size IMO.
